About the Event

The Age of Fishes Museum in Canowindra is preparing to welcome back renowned palaeontologist Dr Alice Clement of Flinders University for a special Community Open Day on Wednesday, 16 April 2026, offering locals and visitors a rare opportunity to explore Australia’s prehistoric past alongside one of the nation’s leading fossil experts.


Dr Clement will be visiting the region from Tuesday, 14 April to Thursday, 16 April, reconnecting with the community and continuing her research into the area’s exceptional Devonian fossil heritage. She will be accompanied each day by a group of ten undergraduate students, making this an excellent chance for anyone interested in university pathways, palaeontology degrees, or scientific study to meet current students and hear firsthand about their experiences.


The Age of Fishes Museum will open its doors free of charge for the Community Open Day on Wednesday, 16 April from 12.30pm to 3.30pm. Visitors will also be treated…
